I needed to let some steam and anger out so, here is my first attempt at a socialist CoAs ^^; What do you think?

To explain, the "grain" on the left are hops to point to our rich beer-making tradition while the linden to the right shows our Slavic roots. You can see the three symbols of Czechia, the Bohemian lion, Moravian eagle and the Silesian eagle, all de-crowned. In the actual CoAs it's self is (to the left) the Ještěd tower, a symbol of Czech engineering, in the centre is the Lipno dam, the largest dam and body of water in the Czech Republic and to the left are some generic mountains to represent the mountain ranges that encompass the whole country. This is topped of with the communist red star who's light (the will of the people) shines on the whole country. Lastly, at the top of the CoAs is a red-and-white banner containing the words "Česká Socialistická Republika" or "Czech Socialist Republic".

Ok, enough of the zealot crap talk :XD: Some of you might notice, this CoAs is heavily influenced by the CoAs of Socialist Romania. I am not sure about the two side-arms of Moravia and Silesia. Should I keep them? If enough people ask, I will upload a version without them . . .

This is really, really good.

By the way, I personally like the aesthetic of the Moravia and Silesia sidearms, though I think they'd be less likely to be retained on a socialist emblem. But then again, Czechia never really dropped any of its traditional heraldic elements under socialism anyway.

Thanks ^_^

Well, we changed the shield shape to the Hussite shield instead of the classic one but you are right that we never really accepted that whole "modern" communist style of heraldry.

:D Ale vypadá to fakt pěkně a dovedu si představit takovej znak za minulýho režimu :)
Ještě bys moh zkusit udělat nějakej znak ČSFR... nebo zvlášť znak České federativní republiky a Slovenské federativní republiky :)

Usually Im not a fan of CoA featuring modern structures (like dams, power plants/lines, etc.) But this one looks very well done and I am personally in favor of keeping the side arms~! It adds some unique flare to the myriad of socialist CoA's~!

Thank you :D Well most socialist arms have them (I say most, Poland and us Czechs are exceptions :XD:) and while it would look horrible on a modern CoAs, it fits right in with the socialist ones :) And those are another example of the Czech unwillingness to let go of their heraldic history :XD:

I remember when something like that was official. Those old anti-humanitarian dictatorships were soooo depressing. Here's an idea: Do the Communist (they weren't "socialist", that was Sweden), do them CoA's in black and white. That way, the feel of "existing socialism" will come across. It was a grey world, that one...

Thanks for the idea but it was meant not as a point to Socialism but simply as the CoAs design since that is my favourite thing to draw :D

As Czehoslovakia was a Federal Socialist Republic, a Federalised Czech Socialist Republic with this type of arms is logical and indeed workable, so obviously it has to be wrong as no Socialist Republic could ever allow Logic to be anywhere near it :XD:

:XD: I thought that would be taking it too far :XD: You know what the RL Czechoslovak CoAs looked during the commie era, right? :D
And, yeah, I always found that really weird :XD: Did you know they after WWI, the Austrians wanted a different CoAs (something with a tower) but the allies didn't allow it?! O_O

The allies did allow it, the Austrians replaced it themselves because it looked to much like a commercial logo present in Austria at the time. :D
